Network Support Services is the area of information technology which focuses on the infrastructure of a network and how multiple networks connect from building to building, city to city, or around the world. Long dominated by Cisco internetworking devices such as routers, switches, and wireless, today’s networks incorporate devices from many vendors such as Juniper, HP, and Dell. Students who take this course will gain a fundamental understanding of how internetworking devices work and how to manage them in a modern network.
There are seven sections in this course. Three “core” sections map to specific certifications: Network+, Security+, and Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA). By earning these industry standard certifications, students can demonstrate to employers the breadth and depth of their training in fundamental networking principles.
This course offers a chance to attending the Cisco Academy to earn their CCNA in Routing and Switching, which can be followed with CCNA’s in Wireless and Security. The Cisco Academy at Cape Coral Technical College is the area’s only publicly available year-round Cisco Academy and the only one to offer CCNA Security and CCNA CyberOps training.
