Per Florida statute, public technical college students must assess their basic skills within the first six weeks of enrollment. Cape Coral Technical College strongly recommends completing this before your first day of class.
Approved Tests: ACT, PSAT, SAT, TABE, and CASAS Goals 900.
Validity: Scores must be less than two years old from your program start date.
You may be exempt from testing if you have:
An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Graduated from an accredited Florida public/private high school or home education program.
Arrival: Tests begin at 8:30 a.m. Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in.
Requirements: Bring a valid photo ID.
Dress Code: Professional attire required (no shorts, tank tops, or flip-flops).
Prohibited Items: No cell phones or electronic devices are allowed in the testing room.
Accommodations: To request testing accommodations, please contact us at 239-574-4440 at least two weeks before your test date.
If your scores do not meet program requirements, you must complete remediation before retesting.
Enrollment: Register for an Applied Academics course in the front office with an Admissions Specialist.
Cost & Schedule: $30 | Mondays & Tuesdays, 2:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Process: Receive individualized instruction based on your scores, then retest in the Learning Center upon completion.
You may retest without a course no sooner than 14 days after your original test date.
If the second attempt is unsuccessful, formal enrollment or proof of remediation is required before a third attempt.
